The Psych NP Practice Accelerator was founded by Dr. Francesca Derius, a dual-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) with extensive experience across both mental health and primary care settings.
Through her clinical work, Dr. Derius gained firsthand insight into the evolving role of Nurse Practitioners within modern healthcare systems. While advanced practice clinicians receive rigorous training in patient care, diagnosis, and treatment planning, many are not formally prepared for the operational, regulatory, and structural responsibilities that come with independent practice ownership.
Over time, she witnessed many highly skilled clinicians struggle not because of a lack of clinical expertise, but because of limited guidance around business formation, regulatory frameworks, credentialing processes, and operational infrastructure.
Her work bridges the gap between clinical excellence and responsible practice ownership, helping Nurse Practitioners approach entrepreneurship with the same level of structure and professionalism they apply to patient care.
